Matching Grant

on 18 November 2007 at 11:30 am-12:30 pm,the twenty-nine of ycc networks conduct the fundraising in order to complete the grant that ycc provided to rebuild well for the students,youths, and people that live in Moum Bat Commune,Phugnea Leu District,Kandal Provine.The YCC network would like to say thanks to generous people that contribute their money to help our community and country.YCC networks wish all of generous people good health,luck,happiness and success everything that they wish.

Education and Training Program

Kandal Youth Council of Cambodia(YCC) conduct two training courses for youths:

1.Advanced Democracy Seminar(ADS) is desiged to ecourage active participation in politics by youth,age 18-23.The ADS curriculum focused on:

- Expanding democracy in Cambodia

- Youth participation in a democracy

- Good gavernance

After the training outstanding participants will be encouraged to participate in YCC’s youth network.

2.Living Democracy(LD) also provides training to junior high and high school students,age 13-17.LD course provides a foundation in democratic values that encorages young people to practice democracy in their daily lives.Topics covered are:

- Good citizenship

- Creating democratic communities at home and school

- Tolerence

I’m Phuong phanet,a student at Kampong Kantuot high school.I’m glad to be YCC’s network and I hope I am able to do everything for society to help the youth and people.Before I know nothing,but right now I know what to do in the name of youth especialy my obligation to help my country progressing.


I am Phem Sokmon,YCC network in chhang commune.After I joined the workshop about living democracy and advanced democracy seminar,I knew that youths are important role in our society so on behalf of youth I will do for what to do for my country.


Hello Everyone!I am At saret.I live in Prek kory in Sang District and I study in high school now.In the future I want to be a staff in Ngo because I can help children,youth and disable people.



My name is Sim Seaklin,a student in grade 12 at Prek Sleng high school,kandal.I am a YCC network in Boeung Khyang commune.In the future I want to be a good lawyer.Our country will be better,I hope to be justice and not corruption if every youth thinks youth is the leader from now now.


I am Neang Maneth.I am studying at Kanpong Kantuot high school in kandal.I am going to graduate my study.I am a YCC network in Seim Reap commune and also a Teacher of English at my house and I teach them without getting fee.I like working with children and youth.I want to continoue my education at university and want to success my goal in the future.

Hey Everyone! I am Phai Chanary,a ycc network in Tekvil,Sang district,kandal.I graduate my high school this year.I have a plan to pursure my education at a university in Phnom Penh.I like fishing and having a party with friend when I am free of my studying and housework.Since I volunteer in YCC for more than 5 months after the training about democracy I knew myself that I get a lot of capacity,experiences,know a lot of friends and famous people and also contribute to help my country.I am very happy to do what I can help my community.

National Youth Conference

On September 21-25,2007,Youth Council of Cambodia organized the National Youth Conference at Golden Sand Hotel,Sihanouk Ville,
Cambodia.
YCC kandal Representative recruits 10 networks
in commune basis carefully and accurately.The criterias for the selection are based on their activeness in local governance and democratic participation such as their attendance at
commune council meetings, local workshops/
public forums/seminars, petitions circulations, follow-up meeting with commune councils and local authorities and internal network meeting in their communes and districts.
After every network in different commune already got information they feel very happy and look forward to the conference come when the conference comes all of them meet a lot of friends that come from different provinces by showing happy-smile face and very closed to each other during these conference they get a lot of knowledges,experiences and it is the time for them that they can stay in an expensive hotel with delicous food.After the conference finished they still miss these even and also miss friends that make the happy time during 5 days in conference,however;they will use what they have learnt for developing our community and country.

I’m saochheng,23,a student at Asia Euro University and also one cadidate among sixteen inYouth Leadership Challenge(YLC) on CTN,co-organized by YCC and sponsor by: USAID and IRI through LD and ADS training at Takhmao town .I known that YCC is a non-govefrnmental organization,non-partism and non-profit organization so I decided to work as YCC network(Volunteer) on 13 june,2004 since that time I collect and push youths to joint in LD and ADS training,distribute YCC bullentin,do petition,commune council public meeting,workshop,observe vote registration implementation,research commune history and priority problem,writing report,joint radio program,international youth conference as well as other social activities.As workiing with YCC ,make me enjoyable,brave,flexible,knowledgeable,good relationship and self-confident even though sometimes I have to spend some of my free time to collect youths and ask primary and secondary teacher in order to get the permission to open LD and ADS seminar.Sometimes the authorities put pressure on me but I didn’t feel nervous because Ididn’t do something illegal.I just do it for my experiences and knowledge especially I want to help my country.At the end I hope all my friends and youths will find this occasion to joint with YCC in order to get new knowledge for developing ourself and also our advantages.
